sick day

Today I have never been so sick before in my life.... or that I can remember

Last night(Sunday) my brother Jason, Sarah and I wanted to grill out some fish...So Jay and I ran down to the only supermarket in Oscoda call Gleans. Their meat counter was closed so we picked up some frozen fish and took them back to the house...

Grilled them out and had a great time at dinner...Well that night I did not sleep well so I left to drive home a little earlier then I was going to and about 1/2 way home there I was pulling over to the side of the road...I feel bad for people that was driving down I75 because it was not pretty.... Not long after that Jason and Sarah were also sick....Can you say food poisoning.......

well it is now 1am on Tuesday and I'm able to eat some crackers and drink some Vernor's and its not come back up :)

Can I just say I hate being sick

Garden Gate Cafe

Garden Gate Cafe
"Where the food is great and the fun never ends".

After a great afternoon of shopping in the streets of Shipshewana and seeing everything by {Erin Marie Designs} @ Annalea's Boutique Sarah and I were ready to eat.

Now one thing I love Love LOVE about little towns are great cafes. I love meeting the people that own and work at them. They are always all about their guest that are coming their Cafes. Well a few months back my mom and I came to Shipshewana for a girl weekend and we found just that place.

We were in a shop that was selling antiques and it also had a candy shop. The owner of the candy shop was telling us about her Cafe that was just a few doors down. So my mom and I had to go and check it out....WELL can you say cup cakes. The cup cake that my mom wanted was at the candy shop so the owner walked back to the candy shop just to get her the cup cake..How amazing is that...

So when Sarah and I came down I told her we had to go to the Garden Gate Cafe for lunch

When you walk into Garden Gate Cafe its full of pink, flowers, cool vintage chairs...girl all over, all you can do is look around. For me I feel at home I love anything bright and colorful...

As I said before Cup Cakes.....And they are so good. Oh but lets get back to lunch before the dessert.

The menu is full of great Salads, Wraps, Panini's and Quiches. Sarah ordered a salad and I ordered the Quiche of the day... It was a chess and asparagus Quiche with fresh fruit and a rhubarb muffin and It was SO SO GOOD

Now on for the dessert

Because it has this great vintage vibe there are old cake displays filled with homemade cupcakes and cookies

I had to get a cupcake...You cant go to the Garden Gate Cafe and not get a cupcake. I got the Dark Chocolate with raspberry filling....

It was so good.....

If you are ever in Shipshewana stop into the Garden Gate Cafe "Where the food is great and the fun never ends". Try the Quiche of the day mine was great.... http://www.gardengatecupcakes.com/

Up Up and away

OK so I know I already posted today but the coolest thing happened tonight at Youth Group that I just had to share. If the photo below does not tell you the story......

I WILL.....So I was up in my Youth Group Room getting everything ready for our Wednesday night service and one of the kids come running in.....

Erin they are blow up hot air balloons in the back Yard of the church. I was so excited that I just about ran the kids over to make it outside.....

I have always wanted to see a hot air balloon in real life(we are going to the balloon fest in Howell, MI in June) and this was sooooooo cool because we could feel the heat from flam in the balloon. In this photo you can see the fire going up in the balloon

The kids got such a kick out of this. It was such a God thing because I have not been feeling great and even though I had a lesson planed for tonight I needed something to boost me up.... Here are some more of the pics and one with me and some of my kids. I hope you enjoy

Cooks Farm Dairy

As you all know I have two jobs one is at Forever 21(the bill paying one) and I'm a Youth Pastor at my church. God has blessed me with great kids and I love spending Time with them.

Every first Wednesday of the month we do a hang out Wednesday night. This is one of my favorite nights because we just hang out spend time together and find out whats going on in eachothers world. Well this month we went to this very cute little farm called Cooks Farm Dairy(one of the best places to get homemade ice cream in Michigan). We had so much fun

The other best part is that you can pet the cows. I found that the cows loved me. Yes this is a cow licking my face. It was nasty but the kids got a kick out of it(the silly things you do when you are a youth pastor)

Here are some more really cute pictures from our trip to Cooks Farm Dairy I hope you enjoy them.

Man I love being a Youth Pastor

Holland Tulip Fest

So In My very cold state that I live in right now called Michigan, There is this little town called Holland. Holland is a very cute Dutch town....When I say Dutch yes I'm talking about wood shoes. Well every year they have the Tulip Time Festival. Holland Plants over 10 million Tulips in their little town and they do Dutch dancing(with the wood shoes).

Well for as long as I can remember I have always wanted to go, So last Sunday Muff, My mom and my Aunts and Cousins hit the road and took the 3 1/2 hour trip to the Tulip Times Festival.

When we got there I was amazed how some of the tulips were so tall. As you can see in this pic of Muff.

They had wood cut outs of dutch people were you put your head in....Ok I love the wood cut outs I think they are so fun. So I made someone stand in them with me. The first was muff. We had to put blocks behind it just so muff head would pop over the cut out.

We had so much fun and the Tulips were awesome. I hope you enjoy the other pictures.
